Two Democratic senators just back from reviewing U.S. detention facilities and interrogations at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, said they saw no signs of abuse and said it would actually be worse to close the facility and transfer the detainees elsewhere.

Gee, sure glad we got that vote of confidence. When do Kennedy and Durbin go for a visit? Their to busy dealing with rhetoric and innuendo, no facts.

“The president’s frequent references to the terrorist attacks of September 11 show the weakness of his arguments. He is willing to exploit the sacred ground of 9/11, knowing that there is no connection between 9/11 and the war in Iraq.”

Pakistanis freed from Guantanamo Bay claimed they saw American interrogators throw, tear and stand on copies of Islam’s holy book, and one former detainee said naked women sat on prisoners’ chests during questioning.

It’s nice to know the freed combatants have learned the Al-Qaeda field book well; i.e. lie like hell about your captures.

We’re still waiting on the “naked women on prisoners chest” complaint. Hopefully Ted Kennedy and Dick Durbin will find time to comment. Maybe they can get Nancy Pelosi to demonstrate this unique torture technique!

On second thought, that would be torture.
