Obama’s Goon Squad – Chicago’s Own

by @ 9:51 am. Filed under Elections, Media, Politics

Running a clean campaign has never been in the Obama strategy, it’s more like “take no prisoners” and “do whatever it takes.” Playing the race card has been predominant and asking any specific questions about Obama, his friends, family or associates has been off-limits.

The least vetted candidate in the 2008 Presidential election season is Barack Hussein Obama.

Television advertisements that link Barack Obama to 1960s radical William Ayers have sparked a “legal” controversy. American Issues Project has put out a campaign ad (see video at AIP link) funded by Harold Simmons, a Texas billionaire and McCain supporter.

William Ayers and his association with Barack Obama is “off-limits” as far as the Obama campaign is considered. Forget the US Constitution, the Obama group wants people silenced when the candidate is facing serious questions.

Obama surrogates from MoveOn.org can take out full pages ads denouncing General Petraeus, a man of distinction and honor, but similar organizations aren’t supposed to have ads questioning “The One” based on facts the Obama’s don’t want exposed.

Very little is known about the Ayers-Obama association and “The Messiah” doesn’t want the American public to understand that William Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dohrn are unrepentant domestic terrorists who helped Obama launch his political career in their living room on Chicago’s South Side, the Hyde Park area of the University of Chicago.

The AIP advertisement ties Sen. Obama to William Ayers, an education professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago who co-founded the Weather Underground, which was responsible for bombing government buildings in the early 1970s.

The Obama campaign’s general counsel, Bob Bauer, has sent two letters to the Justice Department asking for an investigation of the group and the $3 million contribution by Mr. Simmons, the only funder who has been disclosed.

The Obama campaign says its supporters have sent about 93,000 emails to the Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc., which owns many of the stations running the spot. None of the 69 stations running the ad has pulled it in response to complaints from Sen. Obama and his supporters. Intimidation doesn’t always stop people who wish to have a voice and feel they are working with facts and the US Constitution on their side.

Stanley Kurtz, writing at National Review, was temporarily shut down from viewing records of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, co-founded by Ayers and Obama began his CAC board chairmanship in early 1995, stepping down from the chairmanship in late 1999, but remaining on the board until CAC phased itself out of existence in 2001.

The CAC files were opened to Mr. Kurtz by the University of Illinois – At Chicago Circle this week and WGN-Radio in Chicago was scheduled to interview Kurtz concerning the files and what he discovered.

Team Obama launched an offensive against WGN, owned by the Chicago Tribune, for interviewing Mr. Kurtz. The Obama campaign was asked to participate in the interview.

An Obama campaign email to supporters called Mr. Kurtz a “slimy character assassin” whose “divisive, destructive ranting” should be confronted. WGN producer Zack Christenson says the outpouring of negative calls and emails is “unprecedented.” He also notes that it is curious — because “we wanted the Obama campaign’s take” on Mr. Kurtz’s findings, but the campaign declined to put anyone on air.

Instead of confronting Mr. Kurtz with an intelligent debate on the issue of the CAC files, William Ayers and his association with Mr. Obama, they send out a goon squad in the fashion of Genghis Kahn and Sturmabteilung to smear WGN and Mr. Kurtz in an effort to stop freedom of the press and speech.

John Fund writes at The Wall Street Journal:

“‘But sometimes they [Obama campaign objections] are designed to shut down legitimate questions. “They’re terrified of people poking around Obama’s life,” one reporter told Gabriel Sherman at the New Republic. “The whole Obama narrative is built around the narrative that Obama and [campaign strategist] David Axelrod built, and, like all stories, it’s not entirely true.” The stakes are high. If the full story of Mr. Obama’s relationship with Rev. Jeremiah Wright had been revealed before the Iowa caucus, he wouldn’t have won.”‘

If the full extent of the Ayers-Dorhn-Obama relationship is aired Obama won’t win in the fall election either. Why else would the Obama goon squad attempt to shutdown an interview on a major radio station?

“‘Aides claim Mr. Obama “has taken voluntary transparency steps” that allow “his constituents, the media and his political opponents to fully examine him.” In reality, anyone questioning the approved story line is liable to be ignored, misled or even bullied. This isn’t what reporters expected when Mr. Obama began campaigning for a “new politics” that would bring honesty and openness to government,”" continues Mr. Fund.

The Obama campaign has already attacked GOP VP candidate Sarah Palin, their leftist surrogates have become increasingly personal and ugly, but Obama feels he should not be expected to be forthcoming with information about his past in an open forum.

Candidates do practice stonewalling when they feel uncomfortable releasing personal information but the Obama campaign takes it further with intimidation and threats.

We suppose expecting anything less from a Chicago “community organizer” and participant in Black Liberation Theology would be too much. Indeed!

Moonbat(s) of The Week

by @ 6:00 am. Filed under Elections, Moonbat Awards, Politics

The Democrat Party

This week the Democrats nominated their “rockstar” candidate for President of the United States of America. A candidate without a resume, a candidate with more secrets than openess.

The Wall Street Journal points out that it’s not unusual for Democrats to “nominate relative unknowns ever since its animating liberalism fell out of public favor in the 1970s.”

Who is Barack Hussein Obama?

Charles Krauthammer writes:

“Barack Obama is an immensely talented man whose talents have been largely devoted to crafting, and chronicling, his own life. Not things. Not ideas. Not institutions. But himself.”

“Nothing wrong or even terribly odd about that, except that he is laying claim to the job of crafting the coming history of the United States. A leap of such audacity is odd. The air of unease at the Democratic convention this week was not just a result of the Clinton psychodrama. The deeper anxiety was that the party was nominating a man of many gifts but precious few accomplishments — bearing even fewer witnesses. “

Obama the Mystery Man

“The oddity of this convention is that its central figure is the ultimate self-made man, a dazzling mysterious Gatsby. The palpable apprehension is that the anointed is a stranger — a deeply engaging, elegant, brilliant stranger with whom the Democrats had a torrid affair. Having slowly woken up, they see the ring and wonder who exactly they married last night,” concludes Mr. Krauthammer.

Sarah Palin for GOP VEEP – We Are So Pleased! WOW!!!!

by @ 12:19 pm. Filed under Elections, Politics

Finally a woman with Conservative values, an executives resume, integrity and someone we can trust to be a heartbeat from the Presidency. This is what we quietly wished for and a private dance in my office was in order. WOW! We should be very proud of this honorable selection for Vice-President of the United States.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin

Governor Palin’s BIO

What to consider about Sarah Palin:

1. Steps on the story of Obama’s speech (and convention), and possibly the bounce coming from them, and wipes them off the news cycle. The Sunday news shows will be all-Palin, all of the time.

2. Sends Republicans into their convention on a huge head of steam.

3. Wipes out the image of McCain as the crotchety elder and brings back that of the fly-boy and gambler, which is much more appealing, and the genuine person.

4. Revs up the base AND excites independents, which no one else in the party, or perhaps in the world, could have accomplished.

5. Puts youth, change, and history on both of the tickets.

6. May detach some young people, especially women.

7. May attach some women pissed off about Hillary.

8. As a pro-life super-achiever, puts feminists in a tizzy.

9. Revives some of the double-edged nature of the Democratic primary, which featured a black vs. a female trail-blazer, and put both sides on notice on sensitivity issues. Democrats used to raising charges of racism against Obama’s critics may face charges of sexism and/or condescension if they try to diss her.

10. Steps on Obama’s claims to have been a reformer, as he reformed nothing (much less the corrupt mare’s nest of Chicago arrangements), while she was a dragon-slayer up in Alaska.

11. As a mother of five, one a Down Syndrome baby, helps her side take on the Democrats on abortion extremism and the Born Alive bill.

12. Reignites the deep and unhealed stresses inside the Democrats, some of whom will now wonder more loudly than ever why they didn ‘t pick Hillary.

13. Counters Michelle in a way Cindy couldn’t.

14. Counter-intuitively, makes the issue of Obama’s light resume more potent than ever. Her lack of experience is no more than his is. And he’s–to use a term from Alaska, and the Iditarod–their lead dog.
