Review the debate transcript we note Barack Hussein Obama’s closing statement:
“You know, my father came from Kenya. That’s where I get my name.
And in the ’60s, he wrote letter after letter to come to college here in the United Statesbecause the notion was that there was no other country on Earth where you could make it if you tried. The ideals and the values of the United States inspired the entire world.
I don’t think any of us can say that our standing in the world now, the way children around the world look at the United States, is the same.
And part of what we need to do, what the next president has to do–and this is part of our judgment, this is part of how we’re going to keep America safe–is to–to send a message to the world that we are going to invest in issues like education, we are going to invest in issues that–that relate to how ordinary people are able to live out their dreams.
And that is something that I’m going to be committed to as president of the United States.”
Beside being tired of Obama we’re very tired of his overuse of the word “notion.” That should be a small consideration since Obama seems to think everything is a notion when he speaks, however….
Notion Defined:
Mr. Obama uses this term to tell America how it was, in his opinion, and how it should be today, in his opinion.
Facts:
Obama Sr. came to the U.S. in September 1959, the Washington Post reported in March–which would mean that the letter-writing campaign Obama fils describes would have taken place in the 1950s, not the 1960s.
Analysis and Truth Serum:
This is important when attempting to understand Obama’s constant complaint with America during the campaign as well as in Berlin that the United States can do better and was better.
Progress in the United States would have taken place, based on Obama’s “moral authority”, in the 1960s and into the 1970s, not 1950s for the following reasons:
Conservatives like myself would call these “progressive” attitudes victories in “moral decay.” The “accomplishments” of the 60s and 70s were products of Liberalism and this should please Obama yet he continues to say:
“Our standing in the world now, the way children around the world look at the United States has deteriorated.”
We too have a “notion” Mr. Obama! Quit telling us that you know what’s good for America because you don’t and never will speak for us in terms of Conservatives and many, many other Americans. We simply don’t approve of the Socialism you wish to sell. No Thanks, Indeed!
Community organizers:
Barack Hussein Obama has spent years training and funding the organizers who do it.
“The seeds of today’s financial meltdown lie in the Community Reinvestment Act – a law passed in 1977 and made riskier by unwise amendments and regulatory rulings in later decades,” continues Mr. Kurtz.
“CRA was meant to encourage banks to make loans to high-risk borrowers, often minorities living in unstable neighborhoods. That has provided an opening to radical groups like ACORN (the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) to abuse the law by forcing banks to make hundreds of millions of dollars in “subprime” loans to often uncreditworthy poor and minority customers.”
The current financial meltdown is occurring because of laws passed by Democrats, fights against proper accounting and regulation (See Video in Header), Clinton administration pressure to boost homeownership rates among minorities and the poor. However compassionate the motive, the result of this systematic disregard for normal credit standards has been financial disaster.
One key pioneer of ACORN’s subprime-loan shakedown racket was Madeline Talbott – an activist with extensive ties to Barack Obama. She was also in on the ground floor of the disastrous turn in Fannie Mae’s mortgage policies.

Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response sometimes seen in an abducted hostage, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger (or at least risk) in which they have been placed.
Barack Hussein Obama discusses taxes as if he were abducted by some left-over Leninist or FDR “Progressive.” Clueless is certainly one word explaining “The One” and his inability to understand tax and economics.
During the Presidential debate John McCain brought to attention the tax friendly environment of Ireland.
The overall tax burden in Ireland is the lowest among all other EU member states. A focus of Ireland’s strategy to attract investment is to create a favorable economic and fiscal environment, which is supportive of industry. This is evidenced by various investment incentives that are in place, creating a unique business opportunity in Ireland.
The corporate tax rate in Ireland is 12.5%. According to the latest Internal Revenue Service data, $706 billion of pass-through business income was reported in 2006. Of this, two-thirds was earned in households making more than $250,000 — households on which Obama has said he will raise taxes.
“The tax rate on two-thirds of small-business income would skyrocket under the Obama plan. The current tax rate on this income is 37.9 percent. The Obama plan, thanks to uncapping the Social tax base, would shoot this small-business rate all the way up to a Carter-level 54.9 percent,” states Ryan Ellis of Americans for Tax Reform.
The Wall Street Journal points out that Sweden is out of touch when it comes to business taxes.
“The corporate tax reduction will bring the Swedish rate down to 26.3% from 28%, continuing its fall from a high of 57% in 1987. This means that Swedes will soon have a corporate tax rate one-third lower than the U.S. average of 39.5% (the 35% federal rate plus the state average).
Maria Rannka, president of the Swedish think tank Timbro, has reported that entrepreneurship had become such an alien concept that more than half of Sweden’s 50 largest companies were founded before World War I.”
Sweden is attempting to catch up with Ireland but has a very long way to go. Three years ago Sweden eliminated its inheritance tax. The U.S. death tax rate is still 45% and Mr. Obama will not eliminate it. Barack Obama continues to insist that U.S. business is undertaxed.
If Mr. Obama becomes President (GOD help us all), hopefully he will recover from his “Stockholm Syndrome” on taxes and see the light of Ireland. Indeed!
