It doesn’t matter in the Beltway, the Left will always utter their negative mantra and it doesn’t matter if the U.S. Military is in harms way or the State Department changes course.
Item 1:
U.S., North Korea to normalize ties – North Korea’s top nuclear negotiator was on his way to the United States for talks on issues that a State Department official said would include first steps toward the normalization of diplomatic relations.
Item 2:
U.S. to join Iran, Syria in talks about Iraq - The first meeting, at the ambassadorial level, will be held next month. Then, Secretary Condoleezza Rice will sit down with the foreign ministers from Syria and Iran at a second meeting in April in the Middle East region.
Item 3:
Of course Reid is taking credit for this new diplomacy, saying Democrats have insisted all along that the U.S. must be willing to talk with “all major nations in the region, including Iran and Syria, if we are ever to find the necessary political solution in Iraq.”
Item 4:
A liberal advocacy group insists Vice President Dick Cheney is “inching closer to war with Iraq.” MoveOn.org (Left-Wing Nut House), is urging supporters to help pay for a newspaper advertisement that reads, “If you like war in Iraq, you’ll love war in Iran.”
Like the newly minted Democrats in Congress who claim a mandate and “speak for the American people“, MoveOn.org say’s it’s important to let decision-makers in Washington know that the American people “won’t tolerate more reckless behavior” in the Persian Gulf region.
Nobody asked for my opinion on this matter. Did they contact any Conservative groups about this? The Liberals skip the part about Iran and Syria fomenting violence in the Middle East and threatening our allies and the United States.
Guns not Butter
“These countries are responsible for the maiming and deaths of hundreds of American soldiers in Iraq,” said Dr. Yaron Brooks, executive director of the Ayn Rand Institute.
“For months Iran and Syria have been fomenting terrorist activity against American troops and Iraqi civilians, providing terrorists with training, weapons and explosive devices.”
“The United States should be bombing, not ‘meeting’ these terrorist regimes,” Brooks said. “By evading the evil of these regimes and pretending that they’re peace-seekers who share our goals, the United States would be encouraging and rewarding their aggression.”
Is Opportunity Knocking?
“The truth of the matter is that these countries (Iran and Syria) have now got the choice to make,” President Bush said. “If they want to sit down at the table with the United States, it’s easy: Just make some decisions that will lead to peace, not to conflict.”
Appeasing the enemy doesn’t work when they publicly announce the goal of destroying the United States. The U.N. has issued resolutions and sanctions, European countries have negotiated with Iran and the rhetoric has continued.
In the end, no matter what the Bush administration attempts in the Middle East, Democrats, and other Liberals will beat the drums of negativity, self-defeat and wish to appease terrorist regimes. When to they begin criticizing the enemy?
