With all the garbage on TV, and I don’t really watch TV I rent DVDs, what is going on in the advertising world? One recent show I’ve been renting is “Friday Night Lights” and it’s low-cut cleavage on steroids. From the high school girls to the teachers in school it’s a T & A show. This may be very mild to other stuff on the airwaves so I ask you to watch the video below and tell me if this advertisement for the new Fiat 500 Arbarth is too sexy for American eyes.
Seduction
My feeling is it is sexy, it’s eye catching, it holds your attention, it advertises the car well and it get’s its message out. Fiat, and Europe in general, is known for running ads that are much more sexually suggestive than ads that run in the US.
“Networks in the U.S. have much stricter standards, which makes the ads we see in the U.S. routinely less interesting than what you see in Europe and South America,” says AOL Autos Editor-in-Chief David Kiley, who is a former editor and columnist at ad industry magazine Adweek. “The other issue you have in the U.S. is that religious-based ‘family’ organizations will start issuing press releases and organizing boycotts if they think an ad is corrupting on some level, or has too much sexual innuendo.”
Fiat CEO Olivier Francois, who also oversees marketing of Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep in the US, said the US agency who created the ad, Dallas-based Richards Group, “intended it to be viral, but I am considering running it as an ad too, but I’m not sure. It may be too much.”
C’mon, this site is Conservative and that has a moral part to it but this commercial is NOT TOO SEXY or provocative for television in the US. TV shows have gone to far on what they offer in my opinion, both network television and cable. They push the envelop in many cases particularly with sex and violence. The Fiat ad in no way crosses some moral line. Have you seen models at the auto shows lately? Aren’t those for families?
What do you think?

Well, well the Liberals never fail to take the word “progressive” and bend it to their Marxist way of thinking. In New Zealand one Liberal Anglican church has gone as far as invoking the Virgin Mary.
We have the main stream media siding with the Anglican morons and decrying a Catholic activist who on Sunday damaged a billboard depicting the Virgin Mary looking at a pregnancy test kit, located outside the St. Matthews-in-the-City Church in Auckland, New Zealand. Yes, damaging the billboard seems to be the news down under not the immoral use of the Virgin Mary.
“Even people who aren’t Catholics know instinctively you don’t attack the Blessed Virgin who gave us the savior of the world,” the man responsible for ripping the image, Arthur Skinner of the Catholic Action Group told New Zealand television. “To see this at this time is an absolute abomination.”
St. Mathews vicar Glynn Cardy and associate priest Clay Nelson, invited people to offer their own thoughts.
“This billboard portrays Mary, Jesus’ mother, looking at a home pregnancy test kit revealing that she is pregnant,” they wrote when the billboard went up. “Regardless of any premonition, that discovery would have been shocking. Mary was unmarried, young, and poor. This pregnancy would shape her future. She was certainly not the first woman in this situation or the last.
“As in the past it is our intention to avoid the sentimental, trite and expected, to spark thought and conversation in the community. This year we hope to do so with an image and no words. We invite you to wonder what your caption might be.”
So being in the Christmas spirit and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ means being provocative at the expense of religious beliefs according to the Progressives. The wish to “avoid the sentimental” and “spark thought and conversation.”
Catholic Diocese of Auckland spokeswoman Lyndsay Freer on Monday provided a statement, saying that the St. Matthews’ initiative:
“…ignores the gospel account of matters surrounding Mary’s pregnancy and the birth of Jesus, in which Mary is not a shocked solo mother, but a young woman who, despite any anxiety she may have had, has given her firm assent and trust to God, saying ‘Be it done to me according to your will.’”
Progressive’s often claim people who don’t like their broad interpretations and beliefs are simply “intolerant.” St. Mathews Cardy and Nelson said:
“Frankly, we are tired of Christian intolerance – and embarrassed by it,” they said.
“When will we recognize that none of us have the whole truth? When will we recognize that those who hold contrary opinions are not ‘of the devil’? When will we recognize that truth comes in many guises, often in unexpected ways?”
St. Mathews is a self-proclaimed “progressive” church that offers same-sex civil union ceremonies and hosts a Sunday evening service of the “Community of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered and Straight People.” Partly visible behind the ripped Mary poster is an earlier one advertising these all-inclusive services.
Tolerance, not in the name of Jesus Christ, but in the name of Vladmir Lenin.

Barack Obama is undecided on allowing an exemption to the Catholic Church concerning his health care law and abortion. In case anyone is wondering the Catholic church and all pro-life institutions and individuals believe taking a life is murder. Leftists, Marxist, Democrats, NARAL and other ilk believe taking the life of an unborn child is pro-choice.
In August, Health and Human Service Secretary Kathleen Sebelius proposed a regulation–that would take affect next fall–that would require all health care plans to cover sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives, including abortifacients. The proposed regulation includes a very narrow religious exemption that does not cover individual Catholics, or Catholic universities, hospitals or charitable institutions.
First off, this is discriminatory because the exemption only includes Catholics not other religions or institutions who have a problem with murdering an unborn child. Despite what the courts have said, mainly nine people in black robes, the United States Constitution does not cover abortion. This is a feminist concept near and dear to women who have unprotected sex and then whine at the consequences. OK, you’re going to ask me what about rape and incest. I might answer think – about adoption.
The US Conference of Catholic Bishops have called the regulation an “unprecedented attack on religious liberty” and have called on American Catholics to contact HHS and demand that the regulation be rescinded. I would call on the whole health care law to be rescinded but the US Supreme Court is going to have a go at that in March 2012. If they decide in the affirmative than we need the law repealed by Congress in 2013.
What we have is religious freedom as set down in the Constitution vs. feminists, liberals, Marxists, radical leftists (fill in the blank) who want something unconscionable to stand while erasing one of the principle portions of the Constitution and one of the main reasons people fled to America to avoid religious persecution. Feminists and their ilk are now persecuting religion.
Obama, surprisingly enough, may let the exemption stand. This would be remarkable as he enjoys funding abortion at the taxpayers expense and is all for infanticide. Obama spokesman Jay Carney has the following remarkable statement: (Emphasis LCs)
“The President has–this decision has not yet been made,” Carney continue. ”You can be sure that we want to strike the right balance between expanding coverage of preventive services and respecting religious beliefs. And that’s the balance that will be sought as this decision is made.”
Whoa! Health care and preventive services are NOT a right but religious freedom is. By the way, murder is against the law in all fifty states. It’s also a federal crime.
The Catholic Bishops are spot on in their comments:
“Indeed, such nationwide government coercion of religious people and groups to sell, broker, or purchase ‘services’ to which they have a moral or religious objection represents an unprecedented attack on religious liberty.”
Many believe abortion aka murdering an unborn child is a Constitutional right, it isn’t. If you can find it in the Constitution I will pay you $1,000 no questions asked. However, religious freedom is a right in the Untied States and if you find that to be untrue I will pay you $5,000.
Obama will make his decision based on politics and votes. He has no use for religion or the Constitution but he may be counting on Catholics to vote for him again. Have they learned their lesson yet?
If you’re on the side of abortion than do us all a favor – abort yourself!
