Colin Powell Plays Spot the Idiot

by @ 11:24 am. Filed under Elections, Politics

Ret. General Colin Powell has announced he will endorse “The One” Barack Hussein Obama for President.

Mr. Powell is an anti-force Liberal who thinks talk is the best way to deal with tyrants while they build centrifuges and discuss their plan to wipe countries from the face of the earth. Rotting corpses and imperialist governments practicing Democracy and Capitalism don’t have a chance in the “all talk world” of Liberals in the D.C. beltway.

In an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Mr. Powell said he believed Sen. Obama is a “transformational figure” who represents “a new generation coming onto the world stage and on the American stage.”

Yes, if you like Socialism then Mr. Obama will transform your life in ways you never imagined as you trudge off to your job or business to create wealth or at least a nice life for your family.

Mr. Powell is a RINO and he should officially announce that he is leaving the Republican Party to help with the clean-up effort Conservatives will be working on in the GOP.

The retired general told host Tom Brokaw, fresh from Jurassic Park, that he is “troubled” by the campaign Sen. John McCain is running and believes the Republican Party has moved too far to the right recently.

Moved to far right with John McCain? Is Powell sharing a crack pipe at secret meetings within the Obama campaign? What is too far right when Republicans in Democrat clothing spent the political capital spending like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid?

Mr. Powell told reporters after the interview that he is still a Republican but is disappointed by the McCain campaign. He called recent attacks on Sen. Obama for his association with 1960s radical William Ayers and the false implications that he is Muslim or un-American “over the top.”

Mr. Powell you’re a RINO not a Conservative and you should go away while we scrub the party. It’s unfair to discuss and vet a candidate for President? It’s unfair to ask questions? Who in the McCain campaign and what ads have suggested Obama is Muslim? After all, Mr. Obama spent 20-years in a church practicing Black Liberation Theology.

“That kind of negativity troubled me,” Mr. Powell said. “We have got to say to the world: It doesn’t make any difference who you are or what you are, if you’re an American, you’re an American.”

Really? What if you have the same beliefs of the people you associate with and they hate America, does that make them Americans we want running the country? Did Mr. Powell denounce the Obama ad telling the public Mr. McCain didn’t use email but failed to mention his war injuries from 5 1/2 years of torture in Hanoi that prevented extended keyboard use?

Mr. Powell said his pick isn’t about race or he would have made his announcement months ago. We’re skeptical because the timing of the Powell endorsement is all too convenient and at a time when the public is paying attention and the newspapers are falling over themselves to get in line to announce their choice as if that was difficult to figure out.

Powell never explained how Obama’s lack of experience could elevate him above John McCain but he took the Leftist talking points to go after Gov. Sarah Palin.

Powell thinks Obama is better suited to solve the economic problems of the US while Mr. McCain will halt spending and earmarks and Gov. Palin has proven experience as an executive in government with experience in the economics arena and special expertise in energy. What has Powell been watching?

Powell doesn’t believe Gov. Palin would be ready to take over as President but he thinks Obama is. He’s not missing the facts; Powell is only demonstrating he has always been a Liberal.

Colin Powell, as Bill Clinton’s chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, presided over the disastrous humanitarian intervention in Somalia using Army Rangers in an ill-planned suidcide mission under the guise of “humanitarian.”

The Powell Doctrine explains that military intervention could almost never be used so his beliefs fit well with Obama and talking to our enemies without pre-conditions. Powell also support arms-control treaties but this won’t matter to Iran, Russia or China. Obama has already stated he will reduce our defense capabilties and leave the US vulnerable to attack.

Powell and his Liberal clones mismanaged the war in Iraq from the beginning. The Bush administration discovered to late they were sleeping with the enemy in Colin Powell and Richard Armitage. Powell also picked a chief of state at the State Department, Ret. Army Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, considered incompetent and lacking the diplomatic experience needed for the job.

The Powell State Department did more to undermine the Bush Administration and failed in it’s job to get support for war in Iraq from key allies.

Bill Gertz writes in The Failure Factory: How Unelected Bureaucrats, Liberal Democrats, and Big Government Republicans Are Undermining America’s Security and Leading Us to War:

“In the months leading up to the conflict the Powell team — Powell, Armitage, and Wilkerson — did not make one trip to key European countries like France and Germany to muster diplomatic support of US military action against Iraq.

Worse, the Powell team utterly failed to gain the support of Turkey for the military operation, again by not traveling to Turkey to meet with Turkish leaders.”

Powell added that his decision had more to do with how the candidates responded to the economic problems than national security policies.

“Watching the responses of the two individuals on the economic crisis really gave me a chance to evaluate their judgment,” he said.

Of course we get zero explanation from Mr. Powell but notice he left experience on national security out of the equation. Powell’s State Department was a complete failure on Iraq, North Korea and America’s standing in the world.

Mr. Powell would have you believe it’s all about the Bush administration because when he subverted their efforts along with the Liberal apparatus within he was let go. This is about payback and politics not the good of America. Indeed!

Powell may not think Ayers is an important issue, but I’ll bet that plenty of Viet Nam veterans do. I also think it very sad that someone who had his “fingers in this war” would now be willing to turn the reins over to someone who is willing to pull out without victory. Hard to believe this man was a soldier.

    Very well said.

  3. Luther Brixton Says:

If “fighting terrorism” is of such a major concern for the Republican Party, why do I never hear any Republicans saying (let alone screaming) Osama Bin Laden should not have been give a free pass after 9.11? Apprehending and/or killing the pepetrator of the 9.11 attacks should have been the primary goal of the Bush administration. Instead, not only has there been an apparent hands-off policy towards Bin Laden from this White House, but the silence on this issue from rightwing talking heads and FOX TV hosts is deafening. If a Democrat had been in office on 9.11 and had proceeded to do absolutely nothing to get the man responsible for the attacks, that would be the SOLE issue this campaign would be based on. But since it’s a Repubican that has been asleep-at-the-switch in getting Bin Laden, there is never a word said about him (except the meaningless lip-serice by McCain saying he’d “chase him to the gates of hell”). We all know how vastly different the GOP talking points would be this year if it was a Democratic president that ignored the August 6th 2001 PBD, and then refused to do anything to apprehend the mastermind of 9.11 for over 7 YEARS!!!

Pretending Ayers is an issue, without ever mentioning the monumental incompetence of the Bush administration in getting Osama Bin Laden, not to mention his victorious hero worship throughtout the Middle East for getting away with killing 3,000 civilians on American soil, speaks volumes towards the insincerity of questioning how safe we’d be under a Barack Hussein Obama administration.

Great piece. I am frankly appalled and disgusted by Colin Powell’s remarks. When I first heard them I literally though I was delving further and further into the twilight zone. hat is how watching this whole election unfold has made me feel. To hear people… especially people such as Mr. Powell, say that looking at someone’s associations is “un American” What planet are you living on??? Since when do a person’s ties not speak VOLUMES about their character??? Not to mention that this was far from an isolated association. He was heavily involved with all types of shady characters throughout his lifetime, and also in his Chicago political career. Are we supposed to turn a blind eye to this? And please do not get me started on his pastor and mentor. It makes my blood boil, and makes me question the very sanity of my fellow Americans who just let it go as if it were nothing. I am so disappointed in the fact that this country is so obviously memorized and mislead… and so EASILY, no less. No one even thinks anymore. Or maybe no one even cares. Nonetheless, buckle up America… you are about to get just what you are asking for. Just remember that this was your willing choice.

  5. Melissa Says:

And one more thing… As a 30 year old veteran with so many of my friends still fighting this war, I agree completely with the statement above. I CANNOT believe this man was a soldier… and a General, at that. He should be ashamed. I know I am. What an embarrassment.

  6. Liberally Conservative Says:

Osama Bin Laden has completely lost his freedom and is really nothing more than a symbol.

Al-Qaeda was drawn to fight and lost big time.

You Luther are so far off base it’s ridiculous. I’m a veteran and my son is serving now. He should get out if Obama wins because number one, Barack Hussein Obama is unqualified to be Commander-In-Chief of anyone in uniform.

Ayers is an issue like it or not. Obama is a professional con-man and liar. That is a fact and we prove at this site over and over.

  7. Joe C. Says:

Colin Powell is now getting his revenge for being proven wrong at every turn for the last 18 years. He advised not to go into Baghdad and finish the job in the first Iraq War, which would have obviated the rest of history since. He spearheaded (reluctantly) the liberation of Iraq, but then stabbed Pres. Bush in the back at every turn as his Sec. of State. Now, he is completing the circle of incompetent advice by paying his pennance to Obama instead of the one guy who was right during this whole thing. After hearing and reading Powell’s non-sensical endorsement, I honestly doubt that this is anything more than another Black guy endorsing Barack to stick it to Whitey.

  8. Daniel Middleman Says:

Why does Powell stay in the Republican party? What is it about the party that makes him keep that affiliation? He is a liberal through and through as I’m sure Gertz makes clear, so are too many others in the administration. I’ve never liked Powell. I think the “Powell Doctrine” is a crock. Granted, I can’t complain about our crushing of the Iraqi army in the first Gulf War, but he no doubt had great influence on the decision to leave Saddam in power. I think Powell is a something of a secular progressive hypocrite who can sit back all day long as people are murdered, raped, and massacred by a bloodthirsty tyrant. These liberals are all the same. America is the bad guy. Oh don’t forget to tell Barrack how Germany and especially France stabbed you in back. Ok, Colin? Oh, I forgot. They’ll all be bowing down in worship before the Messiah, so none of that matters, right?

  9. Liberally Conservative Says:

It is about race, payback, and ultimately Powell’s liberal ideology.

    Good points.

  10. Daniel Middleman Says:

Although I am looking forward to reading Gertz’s book, I have to disagree with his assertion that any such outreach to Germany and France would have made a difference. For one thing, Germany was in the midst of an election with a leader who was playing straight to public opinion. Anti-American public opinion that is. And as we all know now, France was up to it’s neck in the Oil for Food scandal. We all now know what a vile corrupt anti-American pig Chirac really was. Talk about a waste of skin.

  11. Liberally Conservative Says:

Joe, I watched and wondered who would win a stuttering contest, Obama or Powell.

Was he nervous, unsure or simply knew he was publicly revealing himself as a hypocrite.

  12. Liberally Conservative Says:

Daniel, Gertz discussed the fact that Powell didn’t physically go to those countries. It was by phone calls and not eye to eye contact where a point can be driven home more effectively.

Gertz points out that Wilkerson was a key liberal player working to undermine the administration and a liberal Powell would play along nicely.

I have a kept my mouth shut about this for too long. Just because you go to Jump School and Ranger School does’nt necessary make you a Paratrooper or Ranger. If Colin Powell want’s to endorse Obama, let him. He is still to me a leg, New York Liberal! I have never liked the guy nor do any of my “Special” colleagues. I thank him for his service, but he is voting his skin type. Also, McCain and Powell have never been cozy. Powell, just like the good tactician he is, jumped in during what he feels is the decisive moment. Wake up America! Powell knew he would endorse Obama, only when he felt Obama was a lock. And for this, Powell will always be to me “Play it safe leg New York liberal.” Powell is a nobody! He surrounded himself with smart guys, thank god!
