We don’t make any attempt to stop free speech and believe in the U.S. Constitution, including the 1st Amendment, but it has become necessary to stop out of control anger and hate used in the comments section.
Liberally Conservative’s policy for blogging comments is meant to keep things civil while accommodating a wide variety of opinions, which certainly don’t have to agree with Liberally Conservative and it’s author or comments left by other individuals.
The comments section is intended to provide a forum to discuss and debate current posts. Discuss the issue at hand and please don’t go off topic. The comments section is a place for a political discussion and other topics as written here, not blatant insults or personal attacks.
Please be courteous to your fellow bloggers and the author while expressing your views. Offensive language, cursing (including replacing letters with characters), racial or ethnic slurs will not be tolerated and will be edited out and replaced with the connotation (expletive deleted).
If a comment contains too many things that warrant editing the comment as a whole will be deleted. Repeat offenders will be “blacklisted” and kept from further posting. Copying over the same comment to mulitple posts will warrant deletions except for the original comment if they don’t relate to the topic.
Flaming is Forbidden and your comments will be deleted. This is not censorship, it’s a policy so please be informed.
Definition of Flaming:
Flaming is the act of sending or posting messages that are deliberately hostile and insulting, usually in the social context of a discussion board on the Internet.
A flame may have elements of a normal message, but is distinguished by its intent. A flame is typically not intended to be constructive, to further clarify a discussion, or to persuade other people. The motive for flaming is often not dialectic, but rather social or psychological.
Sometimes, flamers are attempting to assert their authority, or establish a position of superiority. Other times, the flamer is simply a closed-minded or biased individual whose conviction that his is the only valid opinion leads him to personally attack any “dissenters.”
Occasionally, flamers wish to upset and offend other members of the forum, in which case they are trolls.
Most often however, flames are angry or insulting messages transmitted by people who have strong feelings about a subject. Finally, some consider flaming to be a great way to let off steam, though the receiving party may be less than pleased.
A normal, non-flame message may have elements of a flame — it may be hostile, for example — but it is not a flame if it is seriously intended to advance the discussion and is acceptable in most cases
In the interest of keeping the comments section informative please post a link to any articles, and excerpt the portions of the article that make your points. Any comments with the full article will be edited.
Please attempt to keep extensive emotion out of your comments; rely on facts and intelligent opinion. You comments are valued, please remain civil and don’t insult this site or other commentators. Remember, flaming is disallowed and will not be tolerated.
If we’ve made a mistake or misquoted what we presumed as fact please politely correct us and provide a link that will serve as a check.
Liberally Conservative reserves the right to decline publishing, edit or delete any comments that violate this policy, and prevent any repeat offender from commenting.
Opinions are welcome but don’t use insults at an attempt to say you’re correct and the author’s are wrong, or worse. Write an opinion with intellect and don’t become abusive. We don’t have personal facts about bloggers in most cases, please don’t use insults that don’t bare out in reality. Keep it civil.
If you have any questions or problems with this policy please email Liberally Conservative.
