Rudy Giuliani said illegal immigration is not a crime!
“It’s not a crime,” Giuliani said Friday. “I know that’s very hard for people to understand, but it’s not a federal crime.”
It’s not a crime, it’s not a “federal” crime.
What is it Rudy?
“I was U.S. attorney in the Southern district of New York,” he said. “So believe me, I know this. In fact, when you throw an immigrant out of the country, it’s not a criminal proceeding. It’s a civil proceeding.”
It’s still a crime because the word “illegal” can’t be parsed to suit you Rudy!
Illegal immigration shouldn’t be a crime, either, Giuliani said:
“No, it shouldn’t be because the government wouldn’t be able to prosecute it. We couldn’t prosecute 12 million people. We have only 2 million people in jail right now for all the crimes that are committed in the country, 2.5 million.”
The government can’t prosecute it so it’s no longer a crime Rudy?
He added:
“My solution is close the border to illegal immigration.”
What about the 12 million “illegals” already in the country Rudy?
The former New York mayor has been defending his city’s so-called sanctuary policy, which stopped city workers from reporting suspected illegal immigrants. The policy is intended to make illegal immigrants feel that they can report crimes, send their children to school or seek medical treatment without fear of being reported. It did require police to turn in illegal immigrants suspected of committing crimes.
How does a “sanctuary” policy make something “illegal” not a crime? How do we provide “sanctuary” to someone who has committed a crime Rudy?
“His advocacy for sanctuary city policies and his troubling lack of interest in making enforcement of our nation’s immigration laws a priority puts him at odds with those who want to secure our borders and end illegal immigration,” said Romney spokesman Matt Rhoades.
Giuliani is at odds with Conservative principles of law and order and this should help erode support for a candidate not supported at this venue.
Giuliani spokeswoman Katie Levinson said:
“Mitt Romney’s position of the hour probably shouldn’t be taken seriously considering he rewarded four Massachusetts sanctuary cities with hundreds of millions of dollars in state aid and allowed the illegal population to skyrocket.
Good answer, but how does this change the definition of “illegal” and “not a crime”?

The guy is Hillary lite! I am amazed that republicans will actually vote for this guy. Even more worrisome is the fact that most of Ohio’s republicans will vote for this guy. What does that say about Ohio?

I haven’t lived in Ohio long but my county is “Blue” and ignorant. They couldn’t follow political facts if they dropped out of an airplane on their house.
One town had so many Kerry signs I couldn’t drive there under any circumstances during the 2006 campaign season.
I was at a Starbucks in Canton recently and some young pup in his BMW (Daddy’s gift, he probable made it out of High School or turned 16) ruined the vehicle with a “Hillary” bumber sticker.
He gets his news on the Daly Show or MTV. The other goofs watch CNN.

I have enormous concerns about illegal immigration. I see it as one of the great causes of my generation. It is right up there with terrorism. If we fail to act. If we fail to prevent the Third World from flooding into our grat land we will be culturally destroyed. The United States of America became the great nation that it is because it was founded by WESTERN MAN. Each time we allow someone to come to our shores who is not WESTERN, we shake the very foundation that is who we are. Islam does not have the capacity to write an American Constitution, yet some think a Muslim can come to America and our nation will be no different. It will be different. With each non western body on our land it becomes more and more different. If we do not act to stem this illegal immigration from every corner of the globe, we will perish. Our culture will be destroyed if we allow this nation to grow by another 100 million non western people over the next 50 years.
