Harry Truman: The Buck Stops Here
It seems we’re hearing the famous quote of President Harry S. Truman, “The Buck Stops Here”, lately and it’s coming from the mouth of Hillary Clinton.
Like Barack Obama, Mrs. Clinton doesn’t have the guts to face the American people and tell the truth about the attacks and murders of an ambassador and 3 other American’s in Benghazi, Libya, she makes her announcement, taking blame, from Peru. That’s the country, not Peru, Indiana.
“I take responsibility,” Clinton said during her visit to Peru. “I’m in charge of the State Department’s 60,000-plus people all over the world, 275 posts. The president and the vice president wouldn’t be knowledgeable about specific decisions that are made by security professionals. They’re the ones who weigh all of the threats and the risks and the needs and make a considered decision.”
In company’s the CEO is in charge of the entire operation and if his subordinates fail that failure rolls up to the top. CEOs don’t succeed by not remaining informed about all things, especially a crisis that could bring the company down.
“I take this very personally,” Clinton said. “So we’re going to get to the bottom of it, and then we’re going to do everything we can to work to prevent it from happening again, and then we’re going to work to bring whoever did this to us to justice.”
This announcement comes on October 15th and the attacks, followed by lies, contortions, and a coverup occurred on September 11th. Took some time to get things in order I suppose.
A day before the 2nd presidential debate, the timing couldn’t be for political reasons could it? Maybe it was all that “confusion” in the Obama regime, you know, the total incompetence at the top on down.
“In the wake of an attack like this, in the fog of war, there’s always going to be confusion,” Clinton said. “And I think it is absolutely fair to say that everyone had the same intelligence. Everyone who spoke tried to give the information that they had. As time has gone on, that information has changed. We’ve gotten more detail, but that’s not surprising. That always happens.”
She added, “What I want to avoid is some kind of political gotcha or blame game.”
“I know that we’re very close to an election,” Clinton said. “I want to just take a step back here and say from my own experience, we are at our best as Americans when we pull together. I’ve done that with Democratic presidents and Republican presidents.” (Emphasis LCs)
But does Clinton really believe that “the buck stops” with her? She claims security is really up to the security professionals. And “fog of war”? Obama says he ended the war in Iraq and is ending the war in Afghanistan and that al-Qaeda is “back on its heels.” What war, what fog except in the minds of the liars in the Obama regime.
Flashback – 2008
During the hotly contested Democrat primary in 2008 then candidate Hillary Clinton said:
“Being President means being both CEO and COO of one of the largest and most complex organizations in the world.”
“I know that we can get on top of this, but it’s going to require strong presidential leadership — it’s going to require a President who knows from day one you have to run a government and manage the economy,” Hillary Clinton added, using the flailing economy to hit Obama. “The buck stops in the Oval Office.”
And the erstwhile David Axelrod said:
“The truth is that we’re not running for chief of staff. We’re running for President of the United States,” adding the President’s role was to “provide direction and leadership.”
Apparently the buck doesn’t stop at the Obama Oval Office nor does direction or leadership.
