To be effective in addressing illegal immigration we have to not only make it harder for illegals to cross the border, but we also have to reduce the incentive for them to come here to begin with.

This mornings New York Times has a heart wrenching story about one woman’s illegal crossing into the U.S. and her voluntary eventual return home to Mexico.
“For Divided Family, Border Is Sorrowful Barrier,” has it all: domestic abuse, pregnant young daughters, and longing for family members separated by a border.
As usual, for my limited mind the juxtaposition between a fluff piece; the intent of which is to grab at your heartstrings, and the reality that what is being written about is illegal just doesn’t make sense to me.

Jose Alonso Compean and Ignacio Ramos, were sentenced to 12 years and
11 years, respectively, in October by U.S. District Court Judge Kathleen Cardone in El Paso, Texas. The drug smuggler was granted immunity for his testimony. Doesn’t sound fair to me. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R, Calif.; Minuteman Project founder Jim Gilchrist; and members of other border-security groups such as Friends of the Border Patrol, are asking President George W. Bush for a ‘Christmas pardon’ for these agents.

Tired of illegal immigrastion ? Support the Save Act H.R. 4088. It forces all employers to verify social security numbers. Those using a false number must be fired. This turns off the job magnet.
Contact your congressman today and demand he co-sponsor this new bill.

Here what is needed is unity and love by all Mexicans, because believe it or not We the mexicans are those who have created most of our immigration problems so we have to work hard to reverse what we have have created Within ourselves and just as we got united to see the Mexican National Team in the same way we must unite to change all these laws … See Morethat have been created since 1886 and until this day by the american people and we the mexicans have contributed and at times wrongly approved and have adopted anti-immigrant laws which affect us all Americans legal and illegal that are already in the country and therefore according to the Constitution the Mexicans are Americans too & have rights simply by stepping or treading on the soil of the United States of America. and people from other countries of course too! so as most as we are now a predominant race are the ones who have to create a (system of union) to exercise and enforce our rights in America with a good example without violence and intelligently use every weapon that the Constitution gives us and vote democratically, work very hard in every way possible, promote, participate, petition, reform and transform to benefit our country and end the diferiencias not just among us but all of us Mexicans and Americans In The United States
