Democrat Moonbat and military strategist “wannabe”, Rep. John Murtha (D-PA), is seeking to reinstitute the military draft calling it a “citizen’s army.”

Murtha is against the war in Iraq, against a war on terror, favors defunding the all-volunteer troops and has suggested redeploying the military in Iraq to Okinawa. Does Murtha believe drafting individuals against their will into the military will make it better?

Ignoring a more modern, streamlined military, Murtha suggests,

“This is one of the smallest armies we’ve had since before World War II, right before the Korean War.”

“And I think also, everybody ought to be able to serve this country. I think we ought to not just have a selected few who volunteer. I think everybody ought to be obligated to serve.”

Obviously Mr. Murtha does not think as any military volunteer would tell you a draftee next to a volunteer would be dangerous and a drag on the real professionals.

Representative Charles Rangel (D-NY) introduced H.R. 393, which would “require all persons in the United States between ages 18 and 42 to perform national service, either as a member of the uniformed services or in civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security.

Maybe Murtha and Rangel would like to implement a Hitler-Jugend, which was a paramilitary organization of the Nazi Party that existed from 1922 to 1945. The Hitler Youth was the second oldest paramilitary Nazi group.

The group served as a recruiting ground for new Stormtroopers of the SA with an emphasis on national youth recruitment into the Nazi Party.

The Hitler Youth had the basic motivation of training future “Aryan supermen” and future soldiers who would fight for the Third Reich faithfully. Physical and military training took precedence over academic and scientific education in Hitler Youth organizations.

As the Democrats mover closer and closer to socialism the Hitler-Jugend and a military draft wouldn’t seem so far apart in Liberal ideology. We’re sure their Liberal ilk at DailyKos, MoveOn.org and Huffington Post are proud.
