Not surprising to those of us who follow politics and know what John McCain says and does. Today in West Virginia when it was likely Mitt Romney would win the Republican delegates ahead of Mike Huckabee and McCain an authorization went forth providing Mr. Huckabee with enough convention votes to inch out Mr. Romney.
McCain is now at a rally with Liberal California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Imagine that!
Huckabee won in the second round of voting, even though Mitt Romney led after the first round. The former Arkansas governor won with 51.5 percent to Romney’s 47.4 percent, pulling ahead after John McCain’s delegates defected to his side, according to FOX News.
Before Huckabee’s surprising turnaround in the second round, McCain delegates told FOX News they had been instructed by the campaign to throw their support to Huckabee.
McCain delegate John Vuolo said former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer approached him and other McCain supporters at the convention and told them he had spoken to McCain, and that the best thing to do was to support Huckabee in the hope that Huckabee could beat Romney in this winner-take-all state.
Huckabee said later in Little Rock that “there wasn’t a deal.” Right and we’re watching for the cow to jump over the moon later this evening.
Huckabee and McCain keep calling themselves Reagan Conservatives and we wish they would enlighten themselves on that or stop fabricating. Neither candidate can legitimately claim being Conservative.
Huckabee and McCain can’t win the Republican nomination on their own so they joined forces. Huckabee should go away and McCain should start being honest with Republicans, especially the Conservatives.

This is a “tried and true” tactical maneuver. It makes good sense for the current front-runner to ensure that his closest opponent doesn’t gain delegates by backing the one who poses the least risk to him. It demonstrates that Senator McCain and his supporters know that a vote for Governor Huckabee benefits him.
