CAPITAL GAINS TAX

MCCAIN

0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples). McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax.

OBAMA

28% on profit from ALL home sales.  (How does this affect you? If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.)

DIVIDEND TAX

MCCAIN

15% (no change)

OBAMA

39.6% – (How will this affect you? If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama becomes president. The experts predict that ‘Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market, yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.’)

INCOME TAX

MCCAIN
(no changes)

Single making 30K – tax $4,500
Single making 50K – tax $12,500

Single making 75K – tax $23,250
Married making 60K – tax $16,800
Married making 75K – tax $21,000
Married making 125K – tax $38,750
Under Obama, your taxes could almost double!

INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN

- 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)

OBAMA

Restore the inheritance tax

Many families have lost businesses, farms, ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved ones will only lose them to these taxes.

NEW TAXES PROPOSED BY OBAMA

New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet.  New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren’t high enough already) New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity)  New taxes on retirement accounts, and last but not least….New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same level of medical care as other third-world countries!!!

“This widely distributed message is so full of misinformation that we find it impossible to believe that it is the result of simple ignorance or carelessness on the part of the writer. Almost nothing it says about Obama’s tax proposals is true. We conclude that this deception is deliberate.”

This election should not be decided (in any part) by email smear campaigns (like the one that helped propel Bush over McCain 8 years ago).

  2. Liberally Conservative Says:

The Annenberg Political “Fact Checkers” is a shill for Liberals who needs a fact chcek for itself. Similar to the folks at Snopes these people come up with “facts” without backup. They print it so we’re supposed to succumb and believe it. Then other shills come around and start blogs or use comment sections to dispute Conservative bloggers.

Like the Liberals at Huffington Post and DailyKos they rant, rave and miss the meaning of FACTS! They threaten, abuse and even laugh when someone like Tony Snow dies.

See Atlas Shrugs for her take on Annenberg here

Then we move over to Hyscience for this tidbit on FactCheck.org.

We also have the problem with fact checking Obama since he changes positions so fast and his so-called move to the center rants in the press. Obama has a voting record as the most Liberal person in Congress and our many other posts on economics, tax, and spending back LC against Obama. His changing currents don’t change his record or the fact that we cross-referenced to legitimate sources for our information.

So we probably have the “little mouse” under an assumed name attempting to discredit LC when he should be checking out his legal defense fund. Indeed!

  3. Angry African Says:

What’s up with McCain? I think he might be losing the plot. Not impossible at his age, but just look at it… His wife owns a beer company but he refuses to share. He thinks flip-flops is a policy strategy instead of shoes. He doesn’t know that a chick that smiles at you doesn’t mean she is hot or a running mate. He shows some man-love by hugging Dubya but then denies they are having an affair. He thinks del.icio.us is a vetting process and he scares little Republican kids. Shame, poor old man. I wrote him a letter to give him a few tips on how to deal with these and a few other problems at http://angryafrican.net/2008/09/09/a-letter-to-john/

  4. Howard Says:

In the Bill Oreilly interview of Barack Obama, regarding the discussion about Obama’s energy plan, in response to Bill asking Barack, what if the development of alternate energy sources don’t deliver. Obama compared his approach to John Kennedy’s space program, and how if you go for it , the answers will come. But, the distinction between our space program and our energy challenge is … If it had taken us longer than we thought to get to the moon … or, if we hadn’t gotten to the moon … no big deal. But, if we put all our hopes into alternative energy, and it doesn’t happen in time … or, if it doesn’t work, our entire economy, as well as our national security could end up in ruins. Our country’s entire energy infrastructure revolves around petroleum. 167,000 gas stations, the 250 million vehicles. Democrats keep citing how long it will take to get more oil out of the ground. But, even if an alternative fuel is found tomorrow, how long will it take America to transition from our existing infrastructure to a completely new one? In the meantime, people have to get to work, and goods have to get to market. This is an important reason to secure our energy needs with oil drilling and mining oil shale, while we try to develop alternate energy. Obama and Pelosi also want to dip into the strategic oil reserve, as a way of pandering to voters, but what if we have a true emergency, like Hurricane Ike, or Hugo Chavez cuts us off, or Amadinajad cripples the straits of Hormuz? Obama seems to be playing fast and loose with our country’s future … gambling with our future, all based on hope and faith … with consequences which could be dire. Obama’s plans, or lack thereof, are extremely irresponsible. Not suprising from a candidate who does not have the experience, qualifications, or judgement to lead, as President of the United States.
