“Show me the man and I’ll find you the crime.” Obama Vengeance on Display

by @ 9:39 am. Filed under Elections, Law & Justice, Politics, U.S. Constitution

Lavrentiy Pavlovich Beria was a Soviet politician, and chief of the Soviet security and secret police apparatus under Stalin. He was top deputy of the NKVD during the Great Purge, responsible for many of the millions of imprisonments and killings. He told Stalin, “Show me the man and I’ll find you the crime.”

What are we to make of Barack Hussein Obama and Joe Biden, pathetic political hacks who have threatened to prosecute the Bush administration, or maybe we should say “persecute”, if the two wayward politicians become President and Vice-President?

In April, Will Bunch of the Philadelphia Inquirer, asked Obama “whether an Obama administration would seek to prosecute officials of a former Bush administration on the revelations that they greenlighted torture, or for other potential crimes that took place in the White House.”

Obama replied to Mr. Bunch:

“What I would want to do is to have my Justice Department and my Attorney General immediately review the information that’s already there and to find out are there inquiries that need to be pursued. I can’t prejudge that because we don’t have access to all the material right now. I think that you are right, if crimes have been committed, they should be investigated. You’re also right that I would not want my first term consumed by what was perceived on the part of Republicans as a partisan witch hunt because I think we’ve got too many problems we’ve got to solve.

So this is an area where I would want to exercise judgment — I would want to find out directly from my Attorney General — having pursued, having looked at what’s out there right now — are there possibilities of genuine crimes as opposed to really bad policies. And I think it’s important– one of the things we’ve got to figure out in our political culture generally is distinguishing betyween (sic) really dumb policies and policies that rise to the level of criminal activity. You know, I often get questions about impeachment at town hall meetings and I’ve said that is not something I think would be fruitful to pursue because I think that impeachment is something that should be reserved for exceptional circumstances. Now, if I found out that there were high officials who knowingly, consciously broke existing laws, engaged in coverups (sic) of those crimes with knowledge forefront, then I think a basic principle of our Constitution is nobody above the law — and I think that’s roughly how I would look at it.”

Mr. Obama has confirmed during the election cycle that he would begin a witch hunt upon taking office offering change we can believe in.

Joe Biden has confirmed Obama’s statement on the subject of investigating “crimes” of the Bush administration.

“George Bush and his administration are going to be judged harshly by history,” said the Delaware lawmaker.

“Not for the mistakes they made, but for the opportunities to unite America and the world they squandered.”

Judging “harshly by history” is not enough for Mr. Biden has promised that an Obama-Biden government would go through Bush administration data with “a fine-toothed comb” and pursue criminal charges if necessary.

“If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation,” he said, “they will be pursued, not out of vengeance, not out of retribution – out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no one, no attorney general, no president, no one is above the law.”

Mr. Obama taught Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago when he wasn’t community organizing but a real expert on the US Constitution, a fellow Liberal and professor in the tank for Obama-Biden, would disagree with the vengeful minded candidates.

“‘But there is a countervailing principle at play here that is equally important — namely that the results of an election should not determine who is to be prosecuted. These principles inevitably clash when the winners of a presidential election investigate and prosecute the losers, even if the winners honestly believe that the losers committed “genuine crimes” rather than having pursued merely “bad policies.”‘ writes Alan Dershowitz of Harvard law.

Obama doesn’t believe anything but the Leftist mantra of prosecuting George W. Bush and anyone remotely related to him. They would especially like to hang Karl Rove and Donald Rumsfeld.

“For those hard-left Democrats who have been pressing their candidates for a promise to prosecute, the list of crimes allegedly committed by the Bush-Cheney administration grows longer and thinner every day,” continues Mr. Dershowitz. (Emphasis ours)

The Left likes red meat but what they really prefer is fresh blood and would use their powers just like Stalin and other tyrants used theirs. This attitude reminds us of the paranoid Nixon years and enemy lists or possibly Hitler, Mussolini and Pol Pot on the extreme. Visit DailyKos and you’ll get a taste of the hate-monger diatribes and blood lusting that Obama-Biden are appealing to.

“Our constitutional system of checks and balances provides numerous mechanisms for dealing with “really bad policies,” even those that may be seen by some as bordering on criminal. Congress may investigate, expose and legislate, but it has no authority to prosecute. In extreme cases, impeachment is available. Prosecution should be reserved for the extremely rare situation where the criminal act and mens rea are so apparent to everyone that no reasonable person would suspect partisanship. The best remedy in other cases is to campaign against and defeat those who supported the bad policies,” concludes Professor Dershowitz.

Beria said:

“Let our enemies know that anyone who attempts to raise a hand against the will of our people, against the will of the party of Lenin and Stalin, will be mercilessly crushed and destroyed”.

Beria is also credited with the slogan:

“When you stop murdering people by the millions, they start to get notions.”

Listen to enough of Barack Obama and you hear the word “notion” frequently. When candidates come out publicly and make statements without a basis of facts concerning imagined “high crimes and misdemeanors” in a Democracy you really should ask if this is change we really want and is there no hope for this country with a President Barack Hussein Obama.

The slow creep of Socialism and more. Vengeance, Indeed!
